A Wakeup Call That Dr. Weitz Answered

When I came to Dr. Weitz back in October 2010, I was a mess. My cholesterol and blood sugar were becoming a problem for the first time in my life, and my physician was ready to put me on a list of horrible medications to “get my numbers down”. Dr. Weitz started me on a clean diet consisting of fresh vegetables, plenty of good proteins and daily vitamins and fish oil. A couple of weeks later, the diet was augmented with a weekly exercise program. About 3 weeks into the process, I began to feel different. When I looked at food, I saw it as fuel. When I looked at my body, I saw it as a representation of my energy. Eating and exercise became something that made sense to me now. Dr. Weitz and I continued to meet weekly to review my diet and monitor my numbers.

After a couple of months, the results were beginning to show. And then it was time for the blood test. We needed confirmation that we were taking the right steps. The results were “phenomenal”! Everything was within range..everything! My blood sugar went from over 150 down to 89! My cholesterol was down from over 250 to 138! And the rest of the panel showed a consistency with a healthy athlete. Everything achieved with diet and exercise! I would recommend Dr. Weitz and his staff for all your nutritional needs. He is calm, collective, absolutely confident in his solutions and a positive reinforcement in your path to good health! I will continue to use his services as I further shape my life and body! Thanks Dr. Weitz and staff for everything!

I’ve been going to Dr. Weitz for over 10 years and have always been happy with his treatments. (I have a funky disc in my lower back which gets out of alignment at least once, and sometimes twice, a year.) My office visits always start with a session of deep massage, then some gentle adjustments, followed by electric muscle stimulation and a discussion of exercise regimens, etc., to keep the problem at bay for as long as possible. He’s very personable, smart and fun to chat with, his rates are reasonable, and I’ve never been pushed to schedule more sessions than necessary. (My problems are usually solved with one or two visits, though I have had an occasional serious alignment issue — i.e., when I slacken in my exercise regimen and I snap into bendy-straw shape — that have required up to 4 or 5 visits.)

Quality Excellent

I always thought it was strange when people told me that they feel tired after waking up – until it happened to me! Gradually it got so bad that laying down did not offer relief, not one of my pillows felt “right” due to the pain on my neck and left shoulder-and I knew I had to do something. I have never had a chiropractor, so I searched my providers list and called plenty. All of them had answering machines except for Dr. Weitz’s office. I’m glad that they were able to take me in. Dr. Weitz is attentive, knowledgeable and truly cares! His office is the perfect mix of professionalism and friendliness. Most importantly, there’s nothing like actually feeling the results of the treatment which I am so thankful for!

This is to attest to the fact that Dr. Ben Weitz is a most capable chiropractor… I had twisted my sciatic nerves, falling on my side from the top of a two-step, front porch down to the cement driveway. … I could no longer drive my car because my right leg was affected. I could not walk unless I used a walker to do so. …

I was prescribed a medication to relax my sciatic nerve; it wore off in no time. It did not help my situation at all. … Dr. Weitz appeared to me to be someone I could trust to put my life into his hands, literally speaking, since a chiropractor works mainly with the manipulation of the usage of his two hands. From the beginning I felt very safe in his able hands. At the stage I was in at the beginning of my treatment, I was sort of like a basket case. I was getting around on a walker and was barely able to get around and do my essential needs. He took me and untwisted my sciatic nerves; I actually heard the sound of the nerves popping out of its twisted positions. From there on, it’s been an onward and upward climb; the usage of a walker to a cane, then finally on my own two legs without having to wince when I stood firmly on them. Also, I have been able to drive again…

Dr. Weitz is really an inspiration and I pray to God on my hands and knees every day that He sent him to me at the time he did; otherwise, I would not have known where to turn to. I really wasn’t in a really good place at that time of my life.

I have been seeing Dr. Ben for close to 15 years. If you want to improve your health, he is your guy. Whatever the problem, he has a protocol for you. He takes the time to get the whole picture and provides you with a plan to follow. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any health problem

You gave me hope when no one could.

I am a lot better now, I have gained weight. Now I can manage to workout 3-4 days a week 30-45 minutes sessions.

The intensity of my symptoms have reduced. Now I can eat a lot more stuff that was giving me problems before. I’m still not normal but getting there.

Dr. Ben,
You are the best. Thank you for helping my daughter get rid of the headache she had for over a week. Her doctor didn’t know what caused it and just gave her drugs to get rid of it. The drugs didn’t work but the magic of you did.

Diagnosing the problem and adjusting her neck to make the pain of the headache go away. Without you her headache would still be there. Thank you again for all the care you have given my family and myself. Your nutrition advice and supplements has helped our physical well being. If all doctors cared for their patients like you, our world would be much better off and much healthier.

I’ve been a competitive athlete most of my life, have been treated by many many chiropractors over the years and Dr. Weitz is by far the best. I’ve been his patient for over four years and he’s treated me for numerous injuries, as well as recovering from hip replacement surgery in 2009. He approaches each situation from the perspective of how your whole body is meant to function. He’s curious, a keen listener, an outstanding spinal manipulator, a dedicated nutritionist and his practice also includes acupuncture, pilates and massage therapy.

Dr. Ben has been a driving force in my recovery for a very long time. 1st when I was about 15 I was in a major car accident, every doctor I saw said surgery to my arm and back was the only option, Dr. Ben knew better. He helped me regain the use of my dominant right arm again and heeled the pain in my back. About 15 years later he was instrumental in my complete remission from MS with his nutritional plan and chiropractic care. 10 years later I am still in remission and off of all medication, I believe wholeheartedly that it is due to Dr. Ben. Unfortunately I have moved Out of state and wish desperately that Dr. Ben had an office in Las Vegas. i’ve been seeing dr. weitz for YEARS now. he is extremely knowledgeable and very thorough with each visit. i was so tired of getting booted out of chiro appointments after 3 mins and a quick adjustment. dr. weitz takes the time to address any muscular issues that may quickly undo the adjustments he is about to make and i think his personable service, professional knowledge, and great personality make him the best chiropractor i’ve ever used (and i’ve used many). takes insurance and doesn’t rake u over the coals for private pay (my insurance doesn’t cover chiro). love this place and love dr. weitz.

Nutrition for Seizures

I came to Ben Weitz D.C. after suffering three seizures in three years and losing my driver’s license. I had seen several neurologists and had numerous tests done for epilepsy, stroke, and other brain issues, such as CAT scans, without results. The only tests that had abnormal results and stood out were my blood tests. Extremely low potassium levels with the first incident and low vitamin levels with the third incident. With no physical changes in my brain, my neurologist only addressed the symptoms.

I went to see Dr. Weitz as a Functional Nutrition client and after a detailed consultation, Dr. Weitz ran some blood and urine tests and a comprehensive stool test. We discovered that I had slightly high blood sugar levels and many vitamin and mineral levels were low. I also had high mercury levels.

Dr. Weitz suspected malabsorption issues, so we did a DNA based stool test. Dr. Weitz sound that I had a parasite, some pathogenic bacteria, H. Pylori, multiple protozoa, and fungal overgrowth. He put me on a protocol of nutritional supplements to balance my system and then to reduce the parasites and H. Pylori bacteria. He also gave me some supplements to reduce the mercury and restore nutritional balance.

I have since then eliminated my seizures and my colon issues including bloating, gas pain, lost 12 pounds of body fat. My energy is now consistent throughout the day instead of the normal slumps. I have my driver’s license and my life back!

I will continue to follow up with Dr. Weitz to be sure that I stay on the right path.

Dr. Weitz is my chiropractor. He is very knowledgeable. He is a former body builder. He is smart, funny, and is very good at what he does.

He is very strong but he is not rough; he is gentle. He is able to treat me properly. He does adjustments and massages to loosen me up. There is heat and cold treatment and also electrical stimulation. He does all the great stuff that is needed for healing and recovery. It is a very good place. The staff is excellent.

When I went to Dr. Ben I could not be in the car for a half hour without being in pain and scrunched over. Not only did he do wonders but so did his staff of very nice and helpful people. Then when I was still in pain but in a different leg (go figure) he put me on a three day regimen of pills…it was truly a miracle….all and I have to say ALL THE PAIN WAS GONE….I am now on one supplement just to make sure it does not come back….My husband who was not a believer in chiropractors is now a patient, and he too is almost rid of his sciatica pain…..I love the feeling of not being in pain…thank you Dr. Ben….

I initially started seeing Dr. Weitz for his sports therapy/chiropractic services where he worked extensively on my back and calves, both areas which have been doing much better since. But what has changed my entire life around has been his nutrition services, where I have lost 35 pounds and 5% body fat in 6 months and have never felt better in my life. His in depth understanding of nutrition and the effects of different food categories on the body, coupled with a balanced lifestyle of working out and promoting health in my personal life has allowed me to elevate myself both physically and mentally. Dr. Weitz is also very friendly, kind and caring, creating a positive atmosphere that encourages success and discipline as you work through your new lifestyle. I am very grateful for the impact Dr. Weitz has had on my life.

The recommendations have helped, I feel better but the best thing about it is that a) it has given me a clear conscience about my diet (supplementing my body with all the necessary nutrients despite being on a strict gluten, lactose and dairy-free diet) and b) it has given me a structure in my daily life, having to adhere to this schedule.

So all in all, I think it helps on more than one level which is absolutely great!

i have been treated by dr. weitz 3 times in the last 5 or 6 weeks, when in LA on business – and my back has never been better. i carry heavy bags when i travel and i hold heavy cameras when i work, so i was experiencing some pretty serious lower back pain. luckily for me, dr. weitz really knows what he is doing, and now i am pain-free. he listened to what i had to say, questioned me thoroughly, and then zeroed in on what has been a very effective treatment. his adjustments are extremely precise and effective, and there is none of that soreness afterward that some chiropractors have left me with. he applies just the right amount of force, never overdoes it, and he makes it look easy. he is the best i have ever seen, and i have been going to chiropractors for over 10 years.

I started seeing Dr. Weitz because I was in a musical for college and I had sprained my ankle. Every other place told me that I would have to drop out of the show in order to get better but Dr. Weitz said he would get me through the show and he has helped me sooooo much! I made it through the show and he helped manage my pain and eventually I got so much better!!! Now I go in regularly for adjustments and it is the best decision I ever made. Go see him!

(Severely sprained cervical facet with intense, mind numbing spasms) My head felt like an ‘anvil’ fixed tightly to my throbbing neck. Couldn’t move w/out terrific pain. Even thinking was painful. 3 days of agony finally brought me to the office. He introduced himself, asked pertinent questions and even helped me off with the shirt. With a sparkle in his eye that reminded me of Kurt Russell, the man got to work.

All fears disappeared as the comfort level rose with his healing touch. Yeah, it was a bit brutal at first but we conversed about everything while he massaged deeply and effectively before attempting the ‘neck thing’. I was way too tense and only got one ‘crack’. (Subsequent visits eliminated this procedure, gratefully, as I just couldn’t relax enough). The ‘electric stimulation’ followed and I was even covered with a warm blanket by one of his caring staff. The ‘stim’ produced the other welcomed ‘crack’. I was discharged with this fair and profound warning, “it’ll get much worse before getting better”. An understatement that nearly sent me to the ‘ER’ but due to Dr. Ben’s expertise and level of trust I gained from him, I persevered. The 4 following visits released even more misery and I got much, much better.

I gotta tell ya; his affable demeanor, thorough knowledge, and pleasingly infectious laugh encouraged me to follow all his directions and sure enough, I’m no longer sporting an ‘anvil head’. I looked forward to our meetings!

I believe that Dr. Ben Weitz is actually a genie released from his bottle to grant all of our wishes for pain relief to come true. He certainly did mine. He practices what he preaches and not once displays that tiresome arrogance one is subjected to from traditional, Western MD’s.

Plus, and this is a HUGE plus for me, we made each other laugh through the pain!

Thank you Doctor Ben Weitz and your unbelievably compassionate and caring staff for helping to make me better and functional again.

I’ll see you again strictly for an adjustment, I hope.
